BAKERS’ AND PASTRYCOOKS’ CONFERENCE DUNEDIN, March 20. Speaking at the opening of the conference of the New Zealand 1- ederation of Bakers and Pastrycooks in Dunedin, Mr F. W. Cresswell, the president, said: ‘We do not expect the protection afforded our industry during the war years, hut if we aie to continue to sell bread at the lowest possible price it is obvious . that some system of zoned deliveries is essential, as we cannot return to the pre-war methods and continue to sell bread at 1936 prices on 1947 costs.” AUCKLAND BREAD FAMINE.
