The headquarters for all Tradesmen is either Greymouth or Westport, but employees would require to be prepared to travel about the district and live in a Railway hut, an allowance of 4s 6d per night being payable whilst away from headquarters. Rate of pay is 3s 6d per hour, with a guarantee of forty hours per week. Overtime at award rates is paid for all time in excess of 40 hours. Full Railway privileges are available.
