Nelson land Board The Nelson Land Board, at its monthly meeting, dealt with the following applications, there being present Messrs E. P. Wakelin (chairman) J. O’Regan, C. L. Mead, J. Ward and C. P. Reilly. Westport colliery reserve transfers were approved as follows:— Sec 223 and 224, 2 roods 23.9 perches. Douglas' Isaac Charles Byran (surviving executor of the estate of G. F. Byran deceased). Douglas Isaac Charles Byran, of Wellington, Manufacturer’s representaive and Alfred George Thomas Byran, ,of Thames, solicitor.

Section 15 12.3 perches Caroline McMaster (executrix in the estate of Laura Leonard) to Caroline McMaster of Westport. Other •transfers approved were:—

Section 54, Block 111, Kawatiri S.D. 22 perches. Myrtle Elsie Butterworth to John Kilkenny Limited, of Westport, garage proprietors. Lot 2 of sec 111, Town of Westport 24 perches Public Trustee (estate Thomas Jenkins) to Edith Jenkins.

Sec. 797, town of Westport, 1 rood, Robert Fitzroy Neill to Arthur George Neill, of Westport, N.Z.R. employee. Cancellation of applications were approved as follows: —

Area in Block VIII, Matiri S.D. 9 acres 2 roods; estate of C. L. Baigent; 70 acres in Block V, Reefton S.D. M. S. O’Malley (Cronadun); sec 11 also, 11 acres in Block II Steeples S.D., John Patrick McGrath; Crown Land in Block VIII Kawatiri 600 acres, Thomas Carter.

Land applications were granted as follows:—

Sec 33, Block 111, Steeples S.D. 51 acres 36 perches. Granted to W. F. and J. S. Dicks-on as year-to-year occupation license from February 12 1947 at annual rent of £2. Sec 47, Block VII, Kawatiri S.D. and sec 15 Elock I Ohika S.D. Area 762 acres 1 rood 27 perches. Allotted to H. W. Williams under Section IV of the Land Sales Laws Amendment Act, 1944. Sec 11 and li acres in Block 11, Steeples S.D. 9 acres 2 roods 36 perches. Granted to Agnes Cropp, wife of Arthur Cropp of Westport, as a year-to-year occupation license from *l/1/47 at an annual rent of £l. Sec 102 and 103, Block IX Kaiteriteri 400 acres 2 roods 20 perches. Granted to W. H. Widdowson as a year-to-year grazing license as from February 12, at annual rental of £B, subject to special condition that no fires are lit in the area.

Pt sec 23, Block IV Mawheraiti 80 acres. Granted to Mr D. E. McVicar as a timber-cutting permit for one year from February 12. An application for Crown Land adjoining State forest south of sec 178, Block VI Reefton S.D., 10 acres by John Coghlan was left in the hands of the CommisiS’oner.
