PRICE OF LANDED IN N.Z.

WELLINGTON, Feb. 21

The landed-in-New Zealand cost of Australian wheat, which is subject to agreement between the Australian'and New Zealand Governments would be 7s Id a bushel, said the Wheat and Flour Controller, Mr PI. McPherson, last night. The price agreed upon for Australian wheat was 5s 9d, as announced earlier in the week, and the freight would vary from Is lid to Is 4d, according to the port used. This would make the landed cost in the North', Island 7s Id The wheat committee paid 7s 4d a bushel for wheat grown in the South Island and 8s for that grown in the North Island. Therefore, the cost of New Zealand wheat in the North Island, whether grown there or shipped from the South, was lid above the price of Australian wheat.
