WATAROA NOTES

[Our Own Correspondent.] The Commissioner of Crown Lands- (Mr Bell), and the Field Appraiser (Mr Thomas), were recent visitors to Wataroa. The school Christmas tree and dance was held in the Memorial Hall, Franz Josef Glacier recently. The Wataroa Christmas- tree party will be held on Wednesday evening.

A meeting of the Wataroa Sports committee was held recently to draw up a programme for January 25. The most notable feature of the programme is the £lOO under-hand chop, the biggest stake yet given in Wataroa. Every effort is being made to secure white pine logs for the chopping events.
