FRENCH ELECTIONS

Lead in Doubt PARIS, November 25. The Communists’ bid for leadership of the French Government has obviously been rebuffed, said a spokesman for the M.R.P. when the French Ministry of the Interior issued revised figures for the election' of delegates to choose France’s Upper House. The new figures are:— M.R.P., 24,751 delegates. Communists and Republican Assistance Union (which is allied with thb Communists), 24,554. The semi-official French News Agency distributed unofficial results from Corsica giving the Communists 244 more delegates and the M.R.P. none. Thus the Communists lead once more with 24,788 delegates to the M.R.P.’s 24,751. The Ministry of the Interior said the vote for the Upper House was so close that there would be no official statement on the result of the election for several hours, perhaps' days, because the counters themselves were pot sure which party was ahead. URUGUAY ELECTION MONTE VIDEO, Nov. 25.
