OMOTO GOLF COURSE

Development Work Improvements and alterations to the Omoto Golf Course have begun under the auspices of the Greymouth Golf Club, according to a Greymouth business man who has’ been called in by the club to act as agricultural expert in the works to be undertaken. When interviewed yesterday, the expert said that improvements to be carried out covered an extensive scale, on the completion of which it was believed that the Omoto course would be one of the best in New Zealand, and possibly in the Southern Hemisphere. There were at present 500 sheep grazing on the course. There were very few places which held water, and thes'e were to be attended to, as were the fairways and greens. “It is remarkable,” concluded the expert, “how well the ground holds after heavy rain, and the completion of the works will be an unfailing asset to the club.” “■
