Stewart, who came to Melbourne to attend i Bernborough, believes that Bernborough is out of danger, and that there is no fear now that the former champion might not be saved for the stud. A Melbourne veterinary surgeon, Doctor G. G. Heslop, is more conservative. He says “Bernborough is making slow, but seady progress. Royal Scot, a four-year-old maiden, won the Williamson Cup at Flemington yesterday by a length from Chaytor, with Knockarlow two lengths further away, third. Royal Scot’s win caused the biggest upset of the Victorian spring carnival. Results. —

N.ZER’S WIN AT SYDNEY.

SYDNEY, Nov. 17.

Bought in New Zealand last January, Fellowship won the Junior Stakes at Randwick yesterday. He is the first horse by the English sire Robin Goodfellow to win a race in Australia. FellowshC’s trainer, C. McLoughlin, will make a special trip to the yearling sales in New Zealand next January in the hope of buying another colt as good as Fellowship.

(Rce. 7.35.) LONDON, Nov. 16. Gordon Richards won the jockeys’ championship for the nineteenth time. Richards rode 212 winners in the flat racing season, which concluded to-day. His mounts totalled 725. The leading trainer was Frank Butters, whose sixty winners earned £56,170 in stakes. The Aga Khan headed the owners with thirty-four winners and with £24,454 in stakes. King George’s horses won £16,539. The jockey Harry Wragg rode a treble at Manchester on his last riding day before ■ becoming a trainer.
