new air record MELBOURNE, Sept, 12. The Australian National Airways Skymaster, Amana, broke the PerthMelbourne record by 16 minutes in flight which averaged over 300 miles an hour at 10,000 feet. The plane, which was helped by a strong tail-wind, covered 1820 miles non-stop in six hours one minute.
