The foundation is offering, firstly, five travelling fellowships yearly for members of the teaching staffs of universities and schools of mines throughout the Empire, valued at £5OO sterling each, for three months, enabling teachers to visit important Empire mining and metallurgical centres during the long vacations; secondly, five travelling postgraduate scholarships yearly, valued at a maximum of £5OOO sterling for six months to be awarded for personality and for general, suitability in addition to examination merit; thirdly, 10 scholarships for students before graduating of £2OO sterling each, to enable them to travel by air for vacation work at important study centres. The Institution of Mining Metallurgy will assist the foundation to operate the scheme.
