The death occurred at Greymouth yesterday morning of Mr Tom Radford. The late Mr Radford, who was a native of Devonshire, England, came to New Zealand 50 years ago. He was well-known in Canterbury in his youth as a rifle shot, and won many prizes. He was a veteran of the Sudan War. His wife predeceased him eight years ago at Rangiora, and since then he has been residing at Blaketown with his daughter, Mrs F. Bowers. The funeral will take place at Rangiora to-morrow.

The Clerk of the House of Representatives, Mr G. F. (Bothamley, will retire on October 31, on superannuation. He succeeded to the office of Clerk on July 1 last, a year after being Clerk Assistant for twelve years. He is in his fortieth year in the public service, the whole of which has been spent in the Legislative Department. He is a member of an old Wellington family with a long association with Parliament House. He is a son of the late Mr A. T. Bothamley, who for many years occupied the position of Black Rod, while his brother, Mr C. M. Bothamley, is at present clerk of Parliaments and Clerk of the Legislative Council. Mr G. F. Bothamley served in both world wars.— P.A.

The death took place last evening at Greymouth, of Mr George Knapp, of Threadneedle Street, in his 66th year. Mr Knapp, who was born at Nelson, came as a youth to Greymouth, and was a well-known builder and contractor, carrying on that occupation until his retirement about two years ago. He was a well-known cricketer, and often had represented the West Coast, and also the province of Nelson. Predeceased about ten months ago by his wife, he is survived by six sons, Simeon, George, Arthur, John (Greymouth), and Edmund (Wellington), and by three daughters, Misses Teresa and Patricia (Greymouth), and Moira (Nelson). He also leaves four brothers, Charles and Arthur (Nelson), Austin (Dunedin), and Lewis (Awapuni), and two sisters, Mrs Attridge and Mrs J. Molloy (Wellington). The funeral will take place at the Karoro Cerhetery tomorrow morning, following Requiem Mass. The West Coast Cricket Association, at its meeting last evening, passed a vote of condolence with the relatives of the late Mr Knapp.
