Fifty kilometre walk: Ljunggren (Sweden) 4hrs 38min 20sec, 1; Forbes (Britain) 2; Megin (Britain) 3. Weight putting: Huseby (Iceland), 15.56 metres, 1; Gorjaino (Russia) 2; Lehtila (Finland) 3. In the women’s events finals resulted:— Eighty metres hurdles: Blankerskoen (Holland) 11.8 secs, U Gokieli (Russia) 2; Sjelokova (Russia) 2. Long jump: Koudys (Holland) 5.67 metres, 1; Gajilis (Russia) -z; Vasiljeva (Russia) 3. Discus throw: Dumbadse (Russia 44.52 metres, 1; Neisink (Holland) . Wajsgretkiewicz (Poland) 3.
