TEL AVIV CORDON British Concentrating (Rec. 6.30). JERUSALEM, Aug. 24. The Jewish Haganah organisation during Friday night posted thousands of pamphlets in Tel Aviv with the warning: “The British will pay with blood if the sentences of death are confirmed against the eighteen members of the Stern gang for sabotaging the Haifa railway workshops.” A new secret radio station, called “Voice of Tel Aviv”, is believed to be operated by the Haganah. It told Tel Aviv residents: “In the event of new military searches, do not divulge any identities, except in the case of mayors, and heads of vital services”. A Reuter correspondent says; British forces on Saturday cordoned off two Jewish settlements near Tel Aviv. Heavy military traffic was seen on all voads' to Tel Aviv on Saturday. ARABS LOOK TO U.N.O. The Arab leaders in Palestine did not hope for success from the London talks, said Jamal Husseini, Arab leader, in a statement. He added that therein the only hope was to reach an insoluble conflict of interests between the British and those Arab States; who are members of the United Nations, so that there will be legal basis for presenting the Arab case to the U.N.O. General Assembly. This was their only positive idea in accepting the invitation to London.
