. The May meeting of the Ross Women’s Institute was held last Wednesday. The meeting opened with the Institute song and aspirations. Mrs. Peebles welcomed a visitor from the Blaketown Institute. Arrangements tor the mat making competition for the Isabel Bassett Cup were discussed. Mrs. Gou.gh gave an interesting talk on the display of Institute work at the Harihari show. Several interesting knitting patterns were handed round for inspection. Competition results were as follows: Best Parsnip, Mrs. Gough 1, Mrs. Cumming 2'. The wandering shilling, donated by Mrs. Cumming, was won by Mrs. V. Mitch«U. The competition set for next month was, “The Best Decorated Hat”. Mesdames Gaines and Fairhall were supper hostesses, and the meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
