FUTURE OF PROFESSION IN NEW ZEALAND. p.A. AUCKLAND, F'ebruary 14. The press was excluded when members of the British Medical Association met this morning for what was described on the programme as a “medico political' meeting. Ihe Chairman, Dr. E. H. M. Luke, had finished his introductory remarks when a member approached one of the doctors on the platform and drew his attention to the fact that newspaper reporters were present. Dr. Luke immediately apologised to the reporters for having to ask them to withdraw. He also asked that his introductory remarks be not reported. No vote was put to the meeting, and the reporters withdrew. Those listed to speak on the subject “The Future of Medical Practice in New Zealand’’ were Drs. A. E. Park, J. F. S. Jamieson, J. O. Mercer, W. J. F. Hutchison, Professor J. B. Dawson and Mr. K. MacCormick. This afternoon delegates will inspect the Middlemore Hospital and others will be playing tennis, golf and bowls. The annual dinner will he held to-night.
