ZIONIST PROBLEM

N.Z. SOLDIER’S EXPERIENCES WELLINGTON, eFb. 14. A conspicuous arrival among the passengers on the Rangitiki to-day, was Sergeant N. G. Davidson, who wore across the shoulders of his military uniform the title “Palestine Police.” He is a New Zealander from To Horo. who has been waiting nine months at Suez for a wellearned five months furlough here. After joining up in 1938 his force must be distinguished from the Palestinian Police, who are Arabs. Part of the time he was on C.I.D. duties in Jerusalem, necessitating the use of three languages, English Hebrew and .Arabic. He said the police had their hands full in Palestine because they were understaffed, and the place was full of terrorist activity. When asked if outbreaks were sponsored by the people themselves, or by an ds of extremists, Sgt. Davidson said: “Ostensibly, the extremeists.” He would not comment further.
