ON DIRECTORATES
LONDON, January 20. Ex-Cabinet rank is still a fairly sure passport to city directorates. How far this is attributable to the prestige of Ministerial respectability on a company prospectus and how far to intrinsic personal worth as a business asset would be a nice prob lem to decide. The two city favourites amongst present ex-Cabinet Ministers are-Lord Woolton and Sir John Anderson, both of whom are certainly of exceptional ability and experience. Lord Woolton is associated with six big concerns as director, Sir John Anderson with five. The total capital represented by Lord Woolton’s half-dozen is £323,648,145. Sir John Anderson’s five represent £298,000,000.
