DIVORCE PUBLICITY

SYDNEY WOMEN OBJECT (Rec. 11.15) SYDNEY. Jan. 29. A deputation from the United Associations of Women will ask the New South Wales Chief Secretary. Hon. Mr Baddeley ,to-morrow, to amend the law so as to restrict the publication of the evidence in divorce cases. This organisation wants legislation similar to that in Britain, which confines the 'divorce reports to a statement of names parties, the grounds, and judge’s comments. The aim is the banning of unwholesome reading, and also the removal of any threat of publicity.
