ROUND THE WORLD

In Six Days

(Rec. 9.50) WASHINGTON, Oct. 5 The U.S. Globester plane landed in Washington, to-day after completing the first regular around the world service flight. The plane covered 23,279 miles round the world in 149 hours 44 minutes, including the time it spent on the ground, namely, 33 hours 21 minutes. Colonel M. S. White Flight Surgeon, conducted daily tests on the seven passengers. He said all showed a good adaptive reaction to the abrupt change from sea level to a moderate altitude. The flight showed long distance air travel can be made by any normal individual without, any fear of undue fatigue. Bell Aircraft Corporation officials have disclosed that a jet-propelled Aivacomet set an unofficial American altitude record of over nine miles, with the greatest height of 47,700 feet. The plane carried a full military load. The official American record is 43,166 feet.
