The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Greymouth Girl Guides’ Association: President, Mrs F. A. Kitchingham; vicepresident. Mrs Tilleyshort; committee, Mesdames J. M. Bunt, E. Par.itt, Greenslade. Congreve, J. , Shannon, Dodd, L. Armstrong, Dale, McClymont. Hutchinson, P. Daniels and S. F. White (secretary). The Association’s annual report stated that the year had been successful. The commg-of-age was marked by- a campfire and. a parade at St. John's Church. A swimming carnival was an innovation and a silver cup donated by Mrs Kitchingham was won by Hokitika. The St. Mary’s company held a birthday party which was attended by committee members. The combined companies’ thinking day was most impressive. Guides also took part in a church parade of Guides, Brownies and Scouts. Two evenings were held for the Guide International Service with satisfactory results. _ Collection cards issued to the committee netted £5 18s, and the response to an appeal for equipment chests was good two cases being sent to headquarters. Mrs Jackson assisted with the packing. Mrs Schaef represented the Association at the Waitomo Commissioners’ conference. Mrs Kitchingham entertained members at sunner and a vote of thanks was accorded her.
