With one round to play, the leaders in the Australian chess championship tourney are: Steiner 11, Wade 101, Purdy and Lazare each 91, Green 81 (with one adjourned), Koshnitsky 8, Goldstein 71 (with one adjourned), Crowl 71, Klass 7. Steiner could only draw his game against A. L. Miller in the fourteenth round of the championship. With one round to go the fate of the title was still in doubt. Purdy put himself out of the running by losing to A. G. Shoebridge. Wade (N.Z.) won his game with M. Green, and lias a chance to win the title.
