The death occurred yesterday morning,) at the Westland Hospital, of Miss Stephens, a well-known school mistress, and a very popular woman in the district. She nad been ill for a long time. Fraser, assisted by Mr Macfarlane, are to act as doorkeepers. Mrs Boyd was requested to canvass for donations for prizes, and Mr E. W. Heenan to wait on business people for the same purpose. Mrs A. Stevenson and Mr Stephens were appointed to marshal the children for the grand victory march. The following ladies’, supper committee was set up: Mesdames I. Perry, T. Stuart, J. Mclntyre, Boyd, I. Preston, J. Monk, A. Stevenson, M. Lynch, C. James, A. Reeves, A. Fraser, and A. Stevens. The M.’sC. wall be Messrs B. Stephens and R. Cooper.
