There is a deep depression in the central Tasman, which is slowly moving eastward. Forecast to 5 p.m. on Friday: North-easterly to northerly winds, becoming fresh at times. Weather: Fai rat first, but cloud is increasing during the day, and scattered rain developing later. Temperatures: Moderate. Further outlook: Unsettled weather.
