A total of £1603 9s lid was invested in National Savings in. Qreymouth last week, against a quota of £1063, and all towns, with the exception of Waiuta were credited with quota successes. The figures were as follows, quotas being indicated in parenthesis: Greymouth, £716 6s 5d (£520); Blackball, £236 8s 6d (£50); Brunnerton, £23 (£50); Hokitika, £5B 14s (£185); Kumara, £B7 3s (£25); Otira, £7 (£10); Reefton, £66 (£73); Ross, £32. 9s (£25); Runanga, £372 4s (£100); Waiuta, £4 5s (£25). - About seven weeks have’passed since national savings figures were released because of the Victory Loan, and during that period actual over-the-counter figures for national sayings amounted to £87,345, this sum being deposited from May 14 to June 16. Of the 20 national savings districts in. the whole of New. Zealand. Dunedin achieved ‘the distinction of being number one on the list for : the year ended on March 31. Westport was second, and Greymouth third.
