A Sydney cable stated Wing Commander Rollo Kingsford Smith last week flew from Britain to Germany to pick up his brother, Peter, who had been liberated from a German prisoner of war camp. Both airmen are sons of Wilfred Kingsford Smith, and nephews of the late Sir Charles. Peter, a Flight Lieutenant, holding the D.F.C., was shot down while piloting a Lancaster over Germany in February, 1943. Rollo Kingsford Smith, one of the youngest Wing Commanders in the Empire AirForces, holds the D.S-.0. and D.F.C. A third brother, John, also a Wing Commander, is in charge of an Australian Fighter Squadron in New Guinea.—P.A.

The death occurred on Saturday afternoon at Greymouth of Miss Florence Scott, of Turamaha otreet. Born at Nelson 71 years ago, Miss Scott came to Greymouth with her parents as a child, and' has lived here for the past sixty, years. As a young woman she was a keen and talented debater, and was a member of the Methodist Debating Cluo. In recent years she had attended St. J'ohn’s Presbyterian Church, and will be missed by a large circle of friends. She leaves four sisters, Mrs Tapp (Wellington), Mrs Walter Leitch (Christchurch), Mrs Clement Parfitt (Greymouth), and Miss Nell Scott (Blenheim), and four brothers, Walter and Llewellyn (Greymouth), and George and Arthur (Wellington). The funeral will take place at Karoro Cemetery to-morrow afternoon.
