WATAROA NOTES

fOur Own Correspondent] A local committee is to be set up to raise the quota of £4,000, for the War Loan. The organisers are confident, that this amount will be raised, and have in mind past efforts of Wataroa residents. The end of the European war was fittingly celebrated at Wataroa. The Patriotic Committee arranged for the celebrations, when the young people and the aged were suitably enterained. A dance was held in the hall on Wednesday evening when there was a very large attendance. The memorable occasion will long be remembered by residents and visitors, of whom there were many. Residents of the district were pleased to know that the Minister of Supply had made available No 11 ana 12 coupons for petrol. This will enable settlers to undertake business (trips, which had to be cancelled owing to the scarcity of petrol.
