WELL-KNOWN JOCKEY’S DEATH. (Rec. 11.30) MELBOURNE, May 9. Herbert Morris, the well-known jockey, and his son, aged 18, were killed in a level crossing accident this morning when a car i.t; which they were going quail shooting struck a light engine at Dandenong 20 miles from Melbourne. Morris had been riding in Melbourne for 20 years and scored many suer cesses in important races. His services" were always in keen demand. He won the Australian Cup- in 1937 on Mutuable and also in 1943 on the New Zealand-bred Taramoa.
