The West Coast Rugby Union’s season will open to-dav. when eight matches, which include three senior games, will be played. The star attraction at Rugby Park will be the meeting between Blaketown and St. Mary’s (Hokitika'). The visitors are reputed to have a good combination, while Blaketown will field a solid, team, which includes ',a number ol last season’s stalwarts. On No. 2 ground, Cobden, champions for some years past, will meet Celtic. Teams .are as follows: — Celtic seniors: Cottle, Ramsay, Ray, Garforth, Cloak, Smith, Constable, Pratt, Hamilton, Willis, Fitzgerald, Silcock, Thompson, Millett, McDonnell. Celtic juniors: Barclay, Conaghan, Forrest, Kelly, Craig, Quinn, Hunt, Fauth, Fitzgerald, Haines, North. Quinlan, McGuinness, Inwood, Furness, Buchanan. Celtic thirds: Burley (2)_, Guerin, Wilson, Costelloe, Conaghan, Kelly, O’Callaghan (2), James, McKeefry, Kidd, Livingstone, Kennedy, Rooney.
