WEDDINGS
WILBURN—DONALDSON The wedding took place at s£ John’s Presbyterian Church, Greymouth, on March 24, of Jean Isabel Donaldson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Donaldson, of Ngahere, and Harry Wilburn, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Wilburn, of Napier. Rev. T. G. Campbell officiated. Miss K. Learmont presided at the organ and Mr. V. Hansen sang “I’ll Walk Beside You” at the ceremony. The church was decorated with hydrangeas. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a frock of white robia voile. The full skirt fell from a pointed waistline to form a full train. The full length sleeves were gathered into a wristband, and she wore a tulle embroidered veil with a coronet of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of chrysanthemums, freesias and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Vera, and her neice, Anne. The former wore powder blue robia voile over taffeta. The bodice was cut with a square neckline, the skirt was full and the sleeves short and puffed. The neice of the bride wore pale pink robia voile cut on similar lines. Both wore sprays, to tone with their frocks, in their hair and carried shower bouquets of delphiniums and chrysanthemums. A reception was held at Harker’s, where Mrs. Donaldson received the guests wearing a black model frock relieved with pink, a black model hat, black coat and black accessories, and a pink shoulder spray. The mother of the bridegroom wore a frock of mid-blue with a blue hat and accessories, and a primrose shoulder spray. Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn left for Nelson, the bride wearing a pink silk linen suit, with navy accessories and a navy tailored coat. McFarlane—stanton The wedding took place at St. Luke’s Church, Christchurch, on March 24, by the Rev. I. L. Richards, of Elizabeth Ann, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. McFarlane of Amberley to Pte. Francis Henry only son of Mr. F. H. Stanton and the late Mis. Stanton, Greymouth. The bride who was escorted by her father, wore a tailored costume/with accessories to match and Mary, sister of the bride acted as bridesmaid, and wore a navy blue tailored costume. Pte. Maurice Hately was best man. IA reception was held at the Clifton tea rooms where Mrs. McFarlane received the guests wearing a black ensemble. Mrs. Harry Jackson, aunt of the bridegroom wore a musquash coat over a rust dress.
