SERIES OF DEATH SENTENCES. LONDON, March 16. Six Belgians were condemned as ’traitors by a court-martial to be shot at daybreak to-day. Four had served in the German Army, one had worked for the Germans at the infamous Breendonck concentration camp, and the sixth belonged to the Rexist shock troops. In France, purge courts have sentenced to death 679 persons as collaborationists. They have also sentenced 340 to life .imprisonment, and 2,666 to other terms of imprisonment. A total of 1,172 have been acquitted. In Sofia a People’s Court has sentenced thirty army officers, including nine generals, to death, and S 3 to imprisonment for terms ranging from one year to life, on charges of involving Bulgaria in war against the Allies, and other crimes.
