CHARLIE CHAPLIN

U.S. SENATOR URGES HIS DEPORTATION

(Rec. 11.10) WASHINGTON, Feb. 15. Senator Langer has introduced in the Senate legislation directing the United States Attorney-General to determine whether Charlie Chaplin should be deported as being an undesirable alien.

Senator Langer said that the United States Immigration Bureau had told him that there was' not sufficient evidence of immorality to warrant Chaplin’s deportation. Senator Langer contended that Chaplin should be deported on the basis of his own evidence in the case in which Miss Barry, film actress, sued him for paternity of her child.
