New U-Boat Activity
LONDON, Feb. 15 The German News Agency claims that U-boats in recent weeks have been operating off the coast of England, including Halifax and also oil Gibraltar, the Saint Lawrence estaurv, Reykjavik and Murmansk. The new activity is attributed to the use of the Schnorkel (a breathing pipe enabling a U-boat to remain submerged for long periods). this, however, does not mean that the üboats will stage a sudden comeback. U-boats equipped with an airshait have remained under water for over 10 weeks without once surfacing.
