BURMA CAMPAIGN
INDIANS MOPPING UP ON RAMREE. (Rec. 11.56). COLOMBO, Feb. 16. A South-East Asia communique says: On- Ramree Island ground forces of the 15th Indian Corps are engaged in mopping up the remaining Japanese troops, who are kept on the move by constant harrassing from artillery, na'val, and air bombardment. We have captured a village and two hill features north of Ramree town. In the Kangaw sector, also, mopping un onerations continue. Troops of the 19th Indian Division in a bridgehead east of the Irrawaddy have made progress east of Singu against opposition.
