I was one of those who iiad the good fortune to play on the Cobden green, notwithstanding its imperfections. The hospitality i received there was unbounded. There was nothing that 1 could see in “Visitor’s” letter that was constructive and helpful to the young club of Cobden. Every bowling green has its imperfections ,and, as a greenkeeper myself, I know the difficulties that are to be ovtrcome. Certainly the Cobden green was not 100 per cent, perfect, but 1 have no doubt ihat, given time, the members with that typical West Coast community spirit will overcome those difficulties. Far from it being a bowler’s hell, as “Visitor” descirbes it, I look forward with anticipation to playing on Cobden green in the future more as a bowler’s paradise. 1 subscribe myself, not anonymous, as “Visitor” does but rather as, A.'ROWE.
