[Our Own Correspondent]. , R'EEFTON, November 23. Mr. and Mrs. K. Auld and family, of Wellington, are- visiting the former’s parents. Mrs. C. C. Cook, of Dunedin, and Mrs J. Stokes, Auckland, are visiting ReeftOn. Mr. A. P. Watson leaves to-day for Tirnaru to be present at his ■ son’s wedding. A.t a sitting of ihe Reef ton Magistrate’s Court, before Mr. A. A. McLahlan, S.M., Alan Norman Bolitho was fined ss, with costs 10s, for riding a bicycle after dark without a light. At a sitting of the Warden’s Court before Mr. McLachlan, Warden, the following applications were dealt with:—John Jasper Doran and Patrick James Doran, for a coal license over 15 acres in Blk. XI., ReeftonS.D.; .also for an extension of time for disposing of the application -for coal lease. —Both granted. Hilda Rose Anna Wills, two applications for renewal of claim licenses.—Both withdrawn by leave. Terrace Coal Mine Ltd., for a way leave over certain land in the town of Reefton. — Granted. Hilda Rose Anna Wills, for renewal of residence site license, No. 1255.—Granted. Elder Rosina Wills, for a special alluvial claim over 11 acres in Elk. VI., Waitahu S.D. — Recommended. William' George Chandler, for a coal prospecting license over two acres two roods, m Blk. XV., Reefton S.D.; also for leave to amend same. —Amendment granted and application for coal prospecting license as amended recommended. Raymond Francis Woodbury, for an ordinary prospecting license over 33 acres in Blk. XVI. Reefton S.D.—Granted. Other applications were adjourned. The following members of the Reefton Fire Brigade leaye for the Fire Brigades’ Demonstration at Hokitika: Superintendent Coxall, Depu-ty-Superintendent Blom, Firemen J. Eklund, Rollinson .and Byrne, and Secretary Newcombe. Despite the wet weather, the team has been training assiduously each evening, and should be amongst the prizewinners. Secretary Newcombe, who has been nominated- for Vice-Presid-ent of the W.F.CjB'.A., will act as delegate to the Conference.
