BURMA CAMPAIGN

(Rec. 1.0). KANDY, November 23. An Allied communique from Southeast Asia says: Hard fighting has occurred on the Chindwin front, where East African troops captured a village, Kyigon, 11 miles east of Kalewa'. Mopping up of determined Japanese pockets of resistance continues. On the Arakan front two features south of the Maungdaw-Buthidaung Road were occupied by our troops. Casualties were inflicted on the J'apanese. Chinese troops in, Northern* Burma yesterday drove a wedge two thousand yards deep into Japanese defences north of Bhamo.
