PETROL ISSUE

FOR L.R.C. MEETINGS WELLINGTON, Nov. 23. In the House to-day, Mr E. B. Corbett (Nat., Egmont) gave notice to ask the Acting-Minister of Supply (Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer): “Whether in view of the fact that District Labour Representation Committees throughout the Dominion had been receiving six gallons of petrol a month, which was to be increased to te" gallons in future, to enable the Committee men to attend monthly meetings, would the Minister see that similar supplies were made available to other political organisations.’. Mr Corbett also asked the Minister to state why licenses for such supplies were issued from Wellington and not in the usual way by district controllers.
