COAL SHORTAGE SYDNEY, Oct. 9 Additional drastic cuts in railway services in both Victoria and New South Wales are threatened as a result of the latest deterioration m coal production. The position is made more critical by the need to transport stock from the drought, areas and to carry fodder. Already Victoria’s rail passenger traffic has been reduced by 50 per cent. A conference between the transport authorities and Federal Cabinet Ministers will be held this week. EGG PRODUCTION SYDNEY, Oct. 9 The poultry industry in Australia produced 1.000.000.000' eggs during the past year. This is 10 per cent, above the i.re-war production. The total does not include the eggs produced in the “back-yard” poultry farms, which are not handled through the Egg Marketing Board.
