NON-SHRINKAGE OF WOOL
USE OF CHEMICAL BATH (Rec. 11.40) NEW YORK, Sept. 11. A report submitted to Amer.can interests states that wool flannel, which shrinks 30 per cent, when ’aundered, shrinks only four per cent if previously immersed in formaldehyde, plus melamine. This chemical bath is applicable to the original fibres or piece goods. It also strengthens. cotton rayon and produces runproof stockings.
