KIEL AND STETTIN

LONDON, Aug. 17,
The Air Ministry in a communique states: The Bomber Command on Wdensday night despatched nearly 1200 planes against Germany. Main objectives were Stettin and Kiel. Large fires were observed at both ports A force of Mosquitoes bombed Berlin. A large . mine-laying operation was also carried out. Sixteen of our planes are missing.
