TWO MEN KILLED'IN SOUTH ISLAND.

P.A. WELLINGTON. August 15. Two members of the R.N.Z.A.F. lost their lives in an aircraft accident at a, South Island air station on Monday. The airmen were engaged, in solo flyir g training when the machines collided in mid-air. The personnel concerned were Sergeant Rodert Stuart Pettit, whose wife is Mrs. R. S. Pettit, of Winton, and Leading Aircraftsman Keith Edwin Hodge, whose wife is Mrs.- J. M. Hodge, of Auckland. FORCED DOWN IN SEA. P.A. WELLINGTON, August 15. An aircraft of the New Zealand Air* Force, operating from a North island air station on a navigational flight, on Monday, made a forced landing in the sea, about one mile off the shore. The pilot and crew were all rescued. The second navigator, Flying Officer- Oscar Camille Miller, suffered a hip injury, winch necessitated sending him to hospital. Miller’s wife is Mrs. Jean Miller, Lower Hutt.
