PEDESTRIAN KILLED WHANGAR.EI, Aug. 14. While walking on the Awanui Road on Saturday night, returning home from the pictures at Kaitaia, Alan Alfred Dean, 20, was struck by a car driven by W. L. R- Geddes, 21, on leave from the Air Force. Dean was removed to the hospital at Kaitaia but died on Sundav morning.

With the object of bringing home to every section of the community the relevance of Christ’s teachrngs to problems of to-day, a ‘Christian Order Week” will be held in Wellington from September 16 to 24. Eight religious denominations w’.ll Ul }ite in what is described as a “call to the city to be spiritually worthy of victory." Speakers will include visitors, both men and women, from all parts of New Zealand. More than 100 special meetings will be held.
