WAR IN CHINA
(Rec. 10.0) CHUNGKING, Aug 13. Chinese forces are attempting to recapture Plengyang, according to a Chinese High Command communique, which said the tempo fighting around the city had increased. Portion of an enemy force 'was eliminated ten miles to the south-westward. Chinese forces were pressing against Liling a strategic base seventy-five miles north-eastyard of Hengyang.
