FLYING SPY’S WIN
hi National Hurdles KANUI TE PAI—KEVIN. CHRISTCHURCH, August . 12. Flying Spy made history at Kiccarton to-day by winning the Grand National Hurdles. She is the first mare to win the race instituted m 1890. Owned by her breeder and trainer, Mr. R. Gregory, of Clive. Flying Spy had a runaway -win. The weather was fine and the track good. The totalisator handled £121,143 10s, compared with £107,908 for the final day last year. The total for the meeting was £240.601 10s, compared with £209.873 10s last year. Results were: — Hunt Cup Steeplechase.—3/1 AIRDRIE (R. Heasley) 1; 6/6 La Boca 2; 4/4 Donadea 3. Won by a neck; same. Time 5.19 3-5.
