FLYING BOMBS

ACCOMPANIED BY ORDINARY PLANES LONDON, July 3. There was flying bomb activity early on Sunday over Southern England. Damage and casualties are ieP An elderly couple, who were buried to the necks in debris, were further threatened when fire broke out in the house. The rescuers had to face flames, but extricated them in time. A number were entrapped in wrecked houses, and it is teaied some were killed, including children. Other residents had lucky -escapes, when houses were partially destroyed (Rec. 7.55) LONDON, July 3 Ordinary planes are believed to have .accompanied ' flying bombs over southern England last ni £fit. A few minutes after flying bombs exploded in -one district the sound of aeroplane engines was heard, toilowed soon afterwards by four explosions. MORE BOMBS ON MONDAY. (Rec. 12.19.) July 3. Flying bombs were still coming over this morning after activity all night. Damage and casualties were reported. Heavy anti-aircraft . fire met the flying bombs and night fighters were active. A proportion of the missiles are believed to have been shot down. The Paris radio says that ordinary ’planes in addition to flying bombs, attacked the London area and other parts of southern England on Sunday. Plymouth and Portsmouth suffered heavily.
