Results .of Saturday’s matches were as follows: — Tech. Old Girls’ A 29 beat Tech. Old Girls’ A Reserve 4;. Runanga A 15 beat United A 8; Convent Old Girls’ A 13 beat Tech. A 12; Tech. C 13 beat Tech. Old Girls' B 11; St. Mary’s C 16 beat Tech. D 14; Paroa 20 beat Convent Old Girls’ C 8; Runanga B 16 beat Technical B 9; St. Mary’s A 20 beat Convent Old Girls’ B 15; St. Mary’s B 21 beat United B 7. The referees’ comments on the play in the A grade show that the Convent Old Girls’ A v. Technical A game was a good one and both sides played well. Technical were very much improved cn their game on the previous Saturday. Runanga Ay. United A was a 1 very even and exciting game. .The centres in both teams playing very well, personal contact was very prominent in the Runanga defence thirds.

In the B grade, the match United B v. St. Mary’s By would’ have been an excellent one but for United being two players short. St. Mary’s forwards worked hard. St. Mary’s A defeated Convent Old Girls’ B after a quick, clean and even game. St. Mary’s forwards played well, but the defence were too eager and ofted marred their play with contact with opponents. Convent Old Girls’ centres were quick and accurate. Paroa fielded a strong team against Convent Old Girls’ C and a f ter „, a hard game came out the winners. The forwards of the Paroa team were outstanding in their play. Tech. Old Girls’ B and Tech. C. were well mached. Quite a few of Tech Ola Girls’ team would be well advised to study rules a more. Runanga B v. Technical B was a e^ en game The latter played the better basketball, their forwards being very unlucky with several S °Draw for matches, to be played by school teams on Wednesday: Tech E v St. Mary’s E. Convent (Miss Nicholson); Tech. F v. St. Mary’s, Convent (Miss Blair); Tech. Cv. Tech. A Main School (Miss Shannon); St. Mary’s Cv. Tech J, Main School (Miss Tpasdale); Tech. I v. Tech. K Tech. School (Miss Williams).
