The weather was fine with a cold southerly wind for the Canterbury Park Trotting Club’s patriotic meeting. There was a large attendance and the track was in good order. The totalisator handled £55,971-. Results were as follows:—

It was one of the most remarkable finishes in the history of the race, only one length separating the first four horses.
