CHAPLAIN ’CASE. . / NEW YORK, May 15. , In Los Angles, Judge O’Connor dismissed an indictment charging Charlie Chaplin and others with conspiracy to deprive Joan Barrv of her c'vil rights. United States Attorney Carr said that he had received written instructions from Washington to request the dismissal. The California Supreme Court upheld the decisions of two lower Courts which refused to dismiss the paternity suit brought against Chaplin in the name of Joan Barry’s baby.
