WAIKATO DIVISIONS. P.A. AUCKLAND, May 16. As the field of 40 is well above the safety limit it is probable that the. Otorohanga Hack Handicap, at the Waikato meeting’ will have to be divided. Divisions are as follows:— Otorohanga Hack Handicap, one mile (First Division)..—Colonel Vaals 8.10, Gunman 8.3, Dumbo 7.10, Century, Mercurial 7.8, Bettermusk, Erm ada, Foxrose, Fox Spi, Hunting Loch, Just Ora, Kitty Green, Look Again, Phalrayne, Lady Nenagh, Roman Orator, Royal Icing. Saludos, Tightline, Treasure Island 7.7. Skyette is not an acceptor for the Seddon Hurdles at the Waikato races on Saturday. Racing Notes Made Expected Improvement: As was expected, Spring Day showed that his recent racing had done him good, and he did not have much difficulty in holding off his stablemate Radio Call in the hurdle race last Saturday. Bright Fox was made a surprise favourite for this event, but after jumping to the front at the barrier rise, he was done with at the end of a mile. Skyette was up with the leader early, but . a couple of bad jumps took the sting out of her: With six furlongs to I cover Sprint Day ran into the lead from Radio Call, with three lengths to Verus, who was followed by Expellant. Nothing had a chance with Spring Day over the last bit, and in an interesting tussle for second money Verus failed to reach Radio Call by a neck. Best of the others was Bronze Night, who came from the middle of the field to get fourth. Goes Fast: , The three-year-old filly Good Friend, by Man’s Pal from Knocklynn showed speed for a while in her Ashburton engagement. She was not prominent until the home turn, where she made a fast, run, but was wide out. The ground she was called upon to cover was too much and she finished outside of a place. Good Friend has furnished into a solid filly. She has a nice easy long striding action, and is a most attractive mover. The sister to Good Scout has been given plenty of time and she may be real good next season. Daljarrock who lost form after being asked to race frequently on the hard tracks experienced during the spring and summer has been turned nut for a spell. His trainer, W. J.
