WEDDING

BUTTERWORTH—TAYLOR The wedding took place recently at St. Mary’s Church, Addington, of 1 Dorothy Lilian, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Taylor, of Spreydon, ana Stanley. Arthur, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Butterworth, of Barry[town. Rev. Mr. Fisher officiated. During the signing of the register “I’ll Walk Beside You” was sung by Mr. Frank Andon.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of cream satin, with a fitting Loyv-waisted bodice, buttoned down the back, and with long sleeves. The skirt formed a -long train. An embroidered tulle veil was held by a cluster of orange blossoms, and she wore a string of pearls. Her shower bouquet was of white chysanthemums.

Misses Joan Wicks, of Spreydon, and Shirley Butterworth, sister of the bridegroom, were bridesmaids. Each was dressed in a pale blue georgette frock made with a rucked bodice, and sleeves and full skirt, and wore a gold locket and chain, the gifts of the bridegroom. They had bandeaux of velvet flowers on net, to match their frocks and their bouquets were of pale pink dahlia's and gladioli. Mr. Jack Gallagher was best man Mr. Arthur Toodles was groomsman. A reception was held at the Winter Gardens where the guests were received by Mrs. Taylor, the bride’s mother, wearing a navy and white ensemble and a navv blue hat, and Mrs. Butterworth, mother of the bridegroom, who wore a black model frock relieved with white and accessories to match. Both wore shoulder sprays.

In the evening Mr. and Mrs.' Taylor gave a dance at the Selwyn Street Kindergarten, when more than 100 guests were present. When Mr. and Mrs. Butteworth left for Akaroa' the bride travelled in a mustard coloured ensemble.
